I think its quite possible the writers haven’t figured out how to end it yet. They’ve dragged it on so long now that it can hardly be a work of art at the culmination. I personally would like the final scene to just be something totally random, like they all turn into claymation puppets and go out with a song. At least that would be unique.
I still watch the show, but not because it’s the best thing on TV. I agree with this comment on digg:
“I love lost, I’ve seen every episode, but it makes no f@#$ing sense. The only reason I still watch is I figure if I’ve come this far I might as well see it through till the end.”

It’s easy. They’re aliens, but not the short gray ones or the big tall ones who use those wands to burn up the evidence.
I still haven’t figured out how the Smoking Man fits into the whole thing though.
