Purist/Corporatist
March 26th, 2008 by JeremyDamn this is interesting.
For what it’s worth I’m probably closest to a 5 but tell everyone else I’m a 7 (because they’re all liberal anti-corporate types)!!
Companies will continue to have power (different from control) in the continuum while a few things continue to be the case:
1) Products and services require investment to develop, distribute and/or sell. ie, there are genuine barriers to entry
2) Information is anything less than perfect (ie companies still have some control of it)
3) Companies acknowldege the reality and power of the ‘groundswell’ and make every effort to optimize the way in which products and services are delivered, communicated and priced for consumers.
At the end of the day companies that succeed will continue to make money. Those that fail will be out of business. That hasn’t changed. Do consumers hold all the aces? Not until the universal replicator makes everything irrelevant!
