Traffic Jam
It takes a certain type of genius to say something profound in a way that comes off as almost glib. This qualifies.
If the website or landing page or whatever you’re trying to persuade people to visit relies exclusively on banner ad-driven scale to succeed, there’s probably something wrong with your content strategy (assuming there’s a content strategy at all). If you don’t think there’s a hope in hell of building awareness of and interest in your site through word of mouth, go back and rethink the program.
Because ultimately that’s the only traffic that’s worth a damn.

Couldn’t agree more. WOM has long been viewed as the most powerful support/ detraction for a brand. However, until recently, the cost of monitoring, let alone influencing has been problematical.

I wish I didn’t like the article; I’d love to disagree with Bob, if for no other reasn than just the hell of it. :-)
